Painting to music

A mysterious island, a French party and a visit to an exhibition: Symfonieorkest Haarlem takes you on a journey through the world of painting and music. Rachmaninov was inspired by the painting "Isle of the Dead" by Arnold Böcklin, of which he saw a black-and-white reproduction in Paris in 1907, and composed his work of the same name.
