Jauchzet, frohlocket!

For many, the four timpani strokes that open the choral introduction to Bach's Christmas Oratorio are a signal: Christmas is coming. Now I feel that childlike anticipation, that tingle. Now I surrender completely to this wonderful music, to hear once again, in wonder, a story so familiar.
