John Storgårds, Wen Xiao Zheng

Beethoven has moved humanity, especially with his symphonies – and he still does today. Remarkably, he wrote only one opera, but here too he staged his ideals: truth, freedom and justice. Its name was originally not »Fidelio« but »Leonore«, and we play one of the four overtures from 1806, which captures the important moments of the plot in music.
