Lost, rescued, immortalised: a sixteen-year-old writes a piano quartet at the Vienna Conservatory that wins acclaim. He sends it to a competition in Russia, where it is lost. Only one movement survives, rescued in the estate of Alma Mahler-Werfel: the only chamber work by Gustav Mahler.
