Susanna

The oratorio Susanna is among the outstanding works from the last years of George Frideric Handel's life. The drama from 1749 about the false accusation of Susanna, in which Handel also employed the strongly dramatic elements of opera, was a work the composer evidently valued particularly highly, and he had it performed once more shortly before his death in 1759.
