Salieri: Falstaff / René Jacobs

Music history has not been kind to Antonio Salieri. To this day he is slandered as Mozart's rival, envious colleague or even murderer, fuelled not least by Miloš Forman's film Amadeus, which portrays Salieri as an unscrupulous, ambitious man and a mediocre composer. In reality, however, this has little to do with the facts.
