Berliner Solisten-Sextett

Richard Strauss's String Sextet forms the famous introduction to his last opera, Capriccio (1942). It is an elegant, chamber-music piece full of subtle dialogues between the six instruments. The music reflects the central theme of the opera: the tension between word and music.
