You shall not make for yourself a graven image Moses is chosen to pass on the idea of God to his people. But how can something unimaginable be conveyed without images or concepts? While the people dance around the golden calf, Moses' counter-model lies in a desert existence: in an empty space without symbols, in which one is thrown back on oneself.
