Peter und der Wolf

Prokofiev's idea of assigning specific instruments to the human and animal characters of his story Peter and the Wolf does more than stir the imagination. It has the pleasant effect that, while following the exciting and witty plot, listeners get to know the characteristic sounds of the orchestral instruments.
