Jukka-Pekka Saraste returns to his former place of work and once again gives the WDR Sinfonieorchester his distinctive stamp. At the centre he places Gustav Mahler’s Ninth – a masterpiece that, at the end of the Romantic era, symbolises both farewell and new beginnings.
