A small sea symphony: Britten's "Four Sea Interludes" are four atmospheric orchestral interludes – "Dawn", "Sunday Morning", "Moonlight" and "Storm" – from his gripping crime opera "Peter Grimes". Not only in "Grimes", but also in the "Poème de l'amour et de la mer", the sea emerges as a driving elemental force and a decisive element: life-giving and at the same time life-threatening.
