Schumann Cellokonzert

"What sweetness and deep feeling are in all those passages of song!" Clara enthused about Robert Schumann's Cello Concerto. This fantastical, imaginative virtuoso piece is now explored and illuminated by Anastasia Kobekina, to whom a multifaceted portrait series is devoted this season. Schumann's beloved work (he polished it right up until shortly before his collapse) is framed in the symphony concert of the Essener Philharmoniker under the direction of GMD Andrea Sanguineti by two further masterpieces of the Romantic era.
