Götterfunken II

The conductor Leonard Bernstein once demonstrated how many attempts Ludwig van Beethoven needed to compose the second movement of his Symphony No. 5. It was fourteen! The sketchbooks for it are piled high. All of them are battlefields of his tireless struggle with music and musical material.
