Belcea Quartet

"The Belcea Quartet doesn't just play Beethoven, it lives the composer too", wrote Het Parool last season after a performance during the Strijkkwartet Biënnale. Not surprising, since the foursome has been intertwined with Beethoven's work since its founding in 1994. Hence a complete Beethoven programme with quartets from all stylistic periods: from his earliest quartets, Op. 18, to his surprisingly light-footed last quartet, with one of the groundbreaking Razumovsky Quartets in between.
