Duo Mares

What happens when the warm human voice meets the rich, resonant sound of the marimba? In Folk Cabaret, mezzo-soprano Teodora Drozdik-Popović and marimba player Colin Crandal explore the common ground between classical music, folk music and cabaret. The duo performs music by, among others, Xavier Montsalvatge, Kurt Weill, William Bolcom, Manuel de Falla and Gustav Mahler: composers who were inspired by folk melodies, popular styles and musical traditions from outside the concert hall.
