Poetry and sound are perhaps the two basic ingredients of the Romantic art song, with which composers such as Robert Schumann, Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy and Peter Cornelius made their names. That the composers handled two voices as a duo just as virtuosically and lyrically as a single voice is shown by Roman Hoza and Lavinia Dames, accompanied by Anastasiya Titovych on piano, in a concert programme focused on a marginal phenomenon of song composition: the duets.
