Simon Höfele & Frank Dupree

Sweet meets salty, classical kisses jazz: with "Salted Caramel", Simon Höfele and Frank Dupree serve up music without blinkers. Höfele's trumpet shoots silver sparks across the Frank Dupree Trio, while Gershwin, Bernstein and Antheil meet Miles Davis, John Coltrane and Dizzy Gillespie. Here genre boundaries, if they still matter at all today, are not politely shifted but melted with delight: sometimes velvet-soft, sometimes angular, sometimes with plenty of groove.
