Mendelssohn 4

Mendelssohn's Fourth is his "Italian": bright, agile, summery and full of southern energy. Starting from this sound, the programme plays with stations that link Mendelssohn and Manfred Schlingensiepen: the British Isles, Italy and Düsseldorf. Both led their ensembles here: the one "the Symphoniker", the other, for over 40 years, "notabu", the leading ensemble for new music with its own Tonhalle series.
