Gewandhausorchester

The Gewandhausorchester and Gewandhauskapellmeister Andris Nelsons have secured Lang Lang, one of the finest piano soloists of our time, for a Beethoven festival. On the first evening, two works numbered 3 make a perfect pair: the famous Eroica in the heroic key of E flat major meets the Third Piano Concerto, in which Beethoven first treated piano and orchestra as equal partners.
