Das symphonische Palais

Three sonatas, written in times of war, enter into a poignant dialogue about past and present in this concert. Claude Debussy's last violin sonata was composed in 1917 under the impression of the First World War; Bohuslav Martinů wrote his third sonata in 1944 in exile in the USA during the Second World War.
