Cello Octet Amsterdam & Claron McFadden

The American composer David Lang turns history on its head. He reworked the love songs of the fourteenth-century Guillaume de Machaut and approached them as if they were jazz standards. Claron McFadden sings these songs about love and heartache in the tradition of Sarah Vaughan and Billie Holiday.
