You can never hear too much Beethoven. In his Violin Concerto, he strikes a heroic tone: expansive in scale, open-minded in spirit, and carried by a deeply human idealism. Yet within these bold gestures lies a moment of complete stillness. The second movement unfolds like an elegy of rare beauty: intimate, consoling and endlessly singing.
