Quartet for the End of Time

The short suite Fyenske Billeder by Hilda Sehested, composed in 1924, offers music of an evocative and intimate character, inspired by Danish landscapes and written with a sensibility close to Nordic late Romanticism. The Danish composer came close to giving up composing when her fiancé died shortly before their wedding.
