Also sprach Zarathustra, Op. 30, is a symphonic poem composed by Richard Strauss in 1896, a musical narrative without words, loosely inspired by the philosophical work of Friedrich Nietzsche. Strauss conducted the first performance on 27 November 1896 in Frankfurt, with a large orchestra and a conception that seeks to reflect musically, in a sensitive way, profound and sometimes difficult-to-express ideas such as knowledge, nature and the overcoming of the human being.
