Stavanger Symphony Orchestra: Vind over havet

Sea, wind and the forces of nature are at the centre of this concert. Takemitsu's poetic How Slow the Wind opens with floating calm, before Hosokawa's Prayer, in its Nordic premiere, invites reflection and contemplation. Sibelius's atmospherically saturated Oceanides leads on towards Debussy's masterpiece La mer, a musical depiction of the ocean's shifting movements, light and forces.
