Paris Chamber Orchestra: Mozart – Schumann

Piano and strings. Schumann's Piano Quintet begins a remarkable line of scores written for this combination. In 1842 the composer was a pioneer: while the piano trio and piano quartet are richly represented in the Classical period, the quintet existed mostly only in the form of reductions of concertos.
