G. Rossini's The Barber of Seville is an opera buffa regarded as an unsurpassed model of the genre. It is also the composer's best-known and most loved work, combining beautiful music, an excellent libretto and "inexhaustible resources of theatrical humour", as Piotr Kamiński writes in the book Tysiąc i jedna opera.
