NoonSong: Crystalline and Symphonic Sacred Choral Music

The composers of this Noon Songs – Reger, Berneker and Reda – sought new sounds in church music. The models of High Romanticism led Reger and Berneker to find opulent and sensitive sounds, while Reda, two generations later, distanced himself from Romanticism with crystalline, clearly declamatory sounds.
