NoonSong: Gregorian Chorales from the Convent of Women

For over a thousand years, Gregorian melodies have shaped countless composers. They carry on Oriental traditions without denying their roots. Since vernacular texts entered the Christian liturgies, new Gregorian compositions have emerged which adopt the melodic and modal structure of the old masterworks. In this Noon Song they are sung exclusively by women, as was customary in convents.
