Igor Levit continues his exploration of Beethoven's sonatas. Five new works, including the celebrated No. 26. Beethoven composed this piece at the time when Archduke Rudolph, his patron and pupil, left Vienna to escape the Napoleonic armies. Subtitled "Les Adieux" (in French), it is his only sonata openly inspired by an extra-musical source.
