Die Kreutzersonate

In Leo Tolstoy's "The Kreutzer Sonata", Beethoven's sonata of the same name becomes the starting point for a story about love, jealousy and destructive obsession. During a train journey, Pozdnyshev makes a harrowing confession to a fellow passenger and tells of the catastrophe of his life: of a marriage overshadowed from the outset by mistrust and jealousy.
